- All day buffet
OVO-LACTO VEGETARIAN. This is a buffet, not an economy rice shop! Economy rice is a plate of rice and some pre cooked dishes to add then you pay for that amount based on that one plate. Buffet is paying one set price and eating as much as you want. Costs RM9.90 and you can eat as much as you want, on the condition that you don't waste your food (you will be charged extra if you do). They have a sushi belt with VERY limited maki. No choices, you just have to sit and wait for the chef to make some, and when he finally does, everyone rushes to grab a portion of 2 slices of maki per plate. If don't want to compete, just sit right at the front of the belt. If not, just wait for everyone else to grab their share and if you're lucky, you'll get a plate. I had no problem waiting though, the place was very comfortable. Sushi is NOT vegan! I was surprised to bite into some cheese maki because I thought it was tofu. Again, you don't get a choice, what you see is what you get. Food is great. Not Japanese when I was there, but very Chinese. Lots of options. However, unless you're used to Asian cooking, you'll know which is vegan, or else you might need to ask a staff to point them out as mentioned by another reviewer. Environment is clean and comfortable. Lots of Buddhist news on TV and restaurant accepts donations for animal welfare. Too bad it's right in front of a McDonald's. HOW TO GET THERE Go to the ground floor and look for a McDonald's. Its at a corner and very hidden (especially since the shopping mall itself is quite crammed) so ask around. Its opposite McDonald's. Note that there are two entrances to the same McDonald's so keep walking past the corner of McDonald's if you don't see it. TIP Went there during lunch on a Sunday and there was a crowd. You might want to check if there are some seats available first before paying. Sit at the front of the sushi belt for first dibs on the maki. Despite the name, don't expect Japanese food.
