- Excellent Cheese Plate
I had a lovely glass of Pinot/Gamay, the cheese plate, and a Pierogi platter (gf). Here is a description of the Perogie: "Yam & eggplant Pierogies, smoky ‘cheddar’ sauce, sautéed mushrooms, shallot confit, pickled beet shred, coconut sour cream, spicy tomato jam. House-fermented purple cabbage saurkraut." The 'cheddar' sauce was really a nooch-based (reminiscent of the old school UnCheese Cookbook. Not bad. Pretty good flavor profile, but I had a hard time divorcing myself from that style of cheeze sauce and it kind of took over the experience. The coconut sour cream, was more if a sweet creme fraiche. More tartness or umami to balance with the tomato jam (which was phenomenal.) The cheese plate was heaven.
