- Not as much vegan junk food variety anymore
*Update(original review still below): I'm not sure what's happening behind the scenes with Veganz, but there have definitely been some changes in the last little while. First, they closed almost all of their non-Berlin locations. The Leipzig location was particularly convenient, as it was only a few minutes from the train station, and a very quick train ride from Dresden. Then I notice that a lot of brands that they used to carry, like Field Roast, Gardein, and Earth Island mayos are no longer available. Don't get me wrong, I'd still shop there if I lived in Berlin, but mostly everything I can order from online shops...the only exception being Fry's, but they are also expanding in Germany to other supermarkets like Rewe in some cities. Maybe they're trying to focus more on their own brand(which is great) distribution, but it just doesn't seem to have the vegan mecca feeling, with all of the unique items found only there, that it once had. *** After many trips to Berlin, we finally made it here before catching the train back to Dresden. We(my husband and I) were in heaven! So much goodness! We found Gardein, Tofurky, and Field Roast(best vegan sausages ever), things we haven't had since moving to Germany from Canada. They also had lots of samples. We were almost overwhelmed, there was so much stuff I wanted to buy. I was also happy to find proper kombucha, and not the Voelkel brand which is just a glorified organic soda(real kombucha has to always be kept in the fridge once bottled). One thing I was hoping that they had was Vega One smoothie powder, but I was so happy about all of the other finds that I left a happy camper. They also have a restaurant and a smoothie/juice bar attached, but we already had pigged out at three other vegan restaurants to the point where even all of the samples in the store were pushing it. Ok, now I'm rambling, but the point is check it out and bring a big bag to carry all of the stuff you'll end up buying. And if Veganz is reading this, a location in Dresden would be awesome, otherwise we have a good excuse to go to Berlin. Updated from previous review on 2016-05-14
