• Lovely vegan restaurant, much better than Terra!

While "disappointment" would be a euphemism for what we felt at the utterly terrible vegetarian restaurant Terra, Princesa Do Castelo had positive surprises in store for us. The staff was very friendly and fast (not just compared with the nasty, slow-witted people Terra employs). Though the visual presentation could use some work, the food was very tasty and low priced. In stark contrast to Terra's off-putting, ill-tasting buffet, the dishes here had a temperature adequate for human consumption. They also come in a good variety, both in the savoury and the sweet section. If you're taking a walk around the beautiful Alfama district, make sure to visit this lovable little place. And don't make the mistake to stumble into Terra, except if you have a wish to be served (or not to be served, which is equally possible) by bad-tempered staff who have no business working in the restaurant industry in the first place.
