  • The Princess & the Castle

Set quite high up in a winding and hilly Lisbon neighbourhood behind the castle. If you get of the Metro at Santa Apolonia it's a lovely walk up the hill. This is what real Lisbon street life is all about away from the usual tourist traps. I don't do tourist traps. We had the nachos with homemade humus & olives and a spicy bean burrito at €4.50 and €8 respectively. The burrito was immense. This was complemented with a delicious red wine sangria and a cheeky bottle of Super Bock beer. I prefer Super Bock, rather than Sagres. Prices are good, staff are friendly, the interior is legendary. This makes the Princesa a rock solid Lisbon veggie venue. Veggie? It's actually vegan. This is a place I will always visit in the amazing city of Lisboa. I can imagine it being quite a special place at night.
