- Vegetarian Okinawan Food!
Goya isn't a veg restaurant, but they do have a vegetarian menu. They also ask customers if they eat milk/cheese or are strict vegan. There are even vegan cakes on the desert menu. I tried the taco rice - a famous Okinawan meal - just because I've always wanted to try it and never seen a vegetarian version. It was made with soy meat. So-so. My wife had the set menu and it was much more interesting. A few kinds of veg, a bit of gluten, and some Okinawan tofu. Lunch meals are all Y880. The restaurant itself is an a quaint, old wooden building, just a few minutes walk East of Kyoto University.
