  • Delicious breakfasts but confusing menu

Orion Cafe is located just south of Srithanu in a little bay. As you travel south out of Srithanu, at the point the road curves to the left, turn into the small road on the right and follow it round the corner. It is attached to a yoga school and most of the clientele appear to come from there. The atmosphere is very relaxed and peaceful. There is ample seating in a covered outdoor area which overlooks the bay. Orion Cafe is open every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I visited several times during my time on Kho Phangan for breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, I ordered the Chia Bomb, Fresh Fruit Salad and coffee. The food was outstanding but the coffee was very weak. For lunch, I ordered a burger which was absolutely delicious. I tried various smoothies which were all excellent. The menu is very confusing with too many options spread over too many pages in the smallest font imaginable. They should try to replicate Karma Kafe’s clear, concise and attractive menu style. Prices are comparable to other vegetarian and vegan restaurants in Srithanu which can be summarised as very cheap by UK standards but expensive by Thai standards. I thoroughly recommend Orion Cafe for breakfast and it is worth considering for lunch and dinner if you have tried the other vegetarian restaurants in Srithanu.
