• Lovely gem on the North Yorkshire coast

How delighted we were to discover that there was such a great vegan place in Scarborough when we took a trip to the seaside this weekend. The weather wasn't great and it had just started to rain when we found CALF and what a lovely, friendly and cosy place it is! The food is delicious and the specials are particularly good value - my husband had a garlic based pizza, chips and salad and I have to admit I was a little envious. I did however enjoy my burger (there were four or five different ones to choose from including fake meat and bean-based varieties) and the chips were really good. The desserts all looked really good and we chose the chocolate fudge cake. It was easily one of the best vegan desserts I have ever tasted. I will definitely come back when in the area - I just wish we lived closer!
