  • Great for brunch or happy hours

This is one of my favorite spots in Oakland - a last bastion of innovative comfort food that doesn't feel like the domain of fancy/tech bros. It's a holdout in the rapidly-changing Uptown area where the queers, freaks, geeks, weirdos, artists, musicians, activist, and low-baggers can all still be comfortable, even though you are oddly seated amongst million-dollar rare cars in the showroom. They have added more indoor seating, but sitting outside on a nice day is where it's at. Great food (think things like Chick'n & Waffles, Tater-Tot Nachos, insanely good donuts, sandwiches etc), a few beers etc. Dog-friendly too.
