- A real vegetarian option amidst the mountains
It is often very difficult to find vegetarian options in the Austrian Alps and Bavaria. Fortunately, we found Chakra while staying in Bad Ischl! The small restaurant/store is not far from downtown; its owner is extremely friendly and serves a homemade Indian vegetarian menu at lunch time for a reasonable price. He even made a special order of samosas for our day-hike :) If you are in the region, check it out.
