  • Delicious and Wonderful

My husband and I were visiting Amsterdam for a couple of nights. Prior to our visit we had researched vegetarian/vegan restaurants in the area, which we like to do when we visit a new city & country (using Happy Cow of course), and came across Marits Eetkamer and read reviews and read the concept about the restaurant online. We loved the idea that there is no menu, that it’s just based on what’s in season and the whims of the chefs. We made our reservations and went with the 5 course meal so that we could try all of the courses! We chose to stick with vegetarian. They can make a vegan menu if you let them know ahead of time. It was a wonderful evening of delicious food. Foods I would not normally try that I really enjoyed. For instance, I’m not a huge fan of brown mustard and I could barely taste it in the dish. The chefs just knew the right balance of ingredients to make the dishes pop. We loved the atmosphere, it felt like a house turned into a very comfy and cozy restaurant! Highly recommend going here if you are in the area! You do need to make reservations as there are not a lot of tables and it fills up rather quickly starting around 7pm or so! And plan to spend at least 1 1/2 - 2 hours there because it takes a while in between dishes.
