  • Best Selection on Island

Kroger is the main store I shop at on island for vegan goods and produce. They have a decent organic produce section that isn't overpriced, the natural food section is also well appointed. Non-dairy milk and vegan meats are kept in separate sections, which I really enjoy because I can do all of my shopping without having to leave the produce section of the store skipping entirely the meat department, which is on the other end of the store. They stock all of the staples, including vegan sour cream, creamer and cream cheese. The frozen vegan meats are kept in the natural foods freezer and they vegetable freezer in the main freezer section, which is a bit annoying if you are looking for something particular. You will find quite a bit of options at Kroger and usually they have fantastic sales and coupons. Tom Thumb on 61st does offer some vegan specialty items that Kroger doesn't but the price is higher and they lack in other options.
