  • My fav place in Berlin

I went to Ohlala for the first time about 2 years ago. It's always been and always will be my favorite vegan place in Berlin, First, because of the food: I do love french food, and they do it great. They've got Quiches (mushroom/Mustard, broccoli and almonds, ratatouille and grains, potatoes...), crêpes: I just can't describe them all, but trust me, you'll be amazed. From homemade salted caramel with roasted almonds, to homemade white chocolate and bananas.. Every dish has a funny frenchy-queer name, which I find adorable and brings so much fund into your food! Also they have AMAZING Flammkuchen... I mean: try the one with grilled vegs and homemade Pesto and tell me about it! If you're more the traditionnal type, have some of the crème fraiche/Speck (Smoked tofu in Marinade) or with homemade vegan bolognese. You can't beat that. Second reason: TONS of gluten free options. I'm gluten intolerant and I must say that's the best place to eat gluten-free. They're not celiac certified but I've heard of many celiacs who went there and had no problems. You can have pretty everything in GF option: The Quiche, with an amazing homemade buckwheat dough, almost all the cakes are gluten free, even the individual ones. Oh yeah, I have to talk about those: They do have individual treats like a vegan gluten free "Snickers" that looks like a pyramid, a Tresor (or chocolate bomb I would say) which is a praline with crunchy peanuts and a melting caramel center with chocolate.. Well it's crazy. They also have this choco Pervers, which is a soft, melty round chocolate cake served with vegan chantilly and some others.... And the third reason: The brunch. Every saturday AND Sunday from 11 to 15, all-you-can-eat homemade french buffet, 100% GLUTEN FREE!!. I mean, woow... I go there at least every two weeks, and the food is always different here! About the drinks: There are many different organic drinks here, like lots of Lemonades, Mate, also beer (local and organic)and coffees, teas in small cute pots. I also would like to add they have many different plant-based milks such as almond, hazelnut, oats, soy, vanilla soy... Overall the best place I have found so far for a cosy, vegan, tasty round-up in Berlin :) Also, the staff is really nice, helpful, the speak mostly English and German, but also Italian and french! I wish they were places like that all over the world so I could be sure of the quality of the food I'm eating! You can trust french people when it comes to food! ;)
