- GET HERE!
I have to admit one of things we really miss is going out for Mexican food. Remember those combination plates with the gravy and melted cheese? So we were determined to get here while visiting Chicago. It was a trip from the Loop (we took a taxi, but you don't have to). Anyway, the important thing is the amazing food in a typical, very basic setting with friendly staff. We started off with handmade tamales; authentic and delicious! I got stuffed poblanos, which came with rice and the creamiest refrieds ever. It was fantastic. My husband got these "steak" burritos which also came with rice/beans. They were amazing. We got a pair of Tinga--chicken quesadillas. It was all just incredible. No cervezas on the menu, but she told us it's BYOB and we ran across the street and bought a beer. It was all pretty cheap, it just doesn't get any better.
