• BREAD OF LIFE

If ever in DaNang "Bread of Life" is a must stop location. Besides being a very clean and delightful room the staff taking orders speak very fluent English and I have heard them speak German, French and a few other languages. The assortment of baked goods from the on-site bakery and Western dishes from Hamburg's to Pizza's to Veggie salad's are all Great and should fit anyone's apatite. The most AMAZING thing about the "BREAD of LIFE" is that it has been operated by an American Couple from Kansas for a number of years in several locations and besides the few orders takers all the other staff,servers,cooks,bakers and dish washers are Deaf and can not Speak. Not only is the food good but to watch the staff interact with each other is a heart warming experience. I go there often...they do have the BEST AMERICAN COFFEE in DaNang "HANDS DOWN". If you are real lucky you may get to see the smiling face of the lovely Kathleen, if she see's you and don't know you she will sit for a few seconds with you and if you ever see her a second time you will feel like you have been friends for life. In some Cultures the Deaf and Dumb are social outcast. The effort and Love that Kathleen and her husband Bob (a Viet Nam War Veteran) have put fort in the "BREAD of LIFE" to give these young people not only the opportunity to learn a occupation but to earn a descent living at the same time. In my eyes they are two of GOD's Living Angle's doing some of God's work.
