- Marinara pizza near railway station
There are many restaurants in Venice that sell marinara pizza, but I went to Gino´s because it was mentioned here in Happy Cow. The pizza was okay, it had enough of garlic and oil on it. Good marinaras don´t need olives or other extras, if the dough and tomato sauce are great. Gino´s is located by a busy shopping street near the railway station, so it´s practical to go there when you arrive in Venice hungry. People have recommended La Zucca restaurant a lot, but when I tried to go there in June, they had siesta during the day and told that they are fully booked for the next couple of days. And anyway, when you visit Italy you need to test different marinara pizzas (though Napoli area has the best ones...).
