i went to hot beans with high hopes! i've had vegan food around the globe (including in portland, OR). i was not impressed with the service here (2/3 owners are unfriendly) OR the food (with the exception of the donuts which are amazing). the jackfruit tacos are not cooked right - they need to be more separated. the seitan was hard to chew -- dry and not tasty at all. the plaintain was cold and dry and also hard to chew! not fresh. the tacos fall apart instantly -- they don't stay together. the beans are way overspiced for even a spicy food fan (full of spice but no flavour). there was also a short hair on the outside of my burrito when i unwrapped it. not cool. overall, i find the food bland OR overspiced, definitely dry, expensive for what it is.
