- A Wonderful Lunch
Found this charming place on HappyCow and am glad to provide a review. I called after business hours on Tuesday to check on the Vegan options for Wednesday's lunch. Steve (owner) called me back early Wednesday morning and went over several wonderful sounding options for me. Told him to expect me and a friend around noon. I was meeting an old friend of thirty years. We both had a ways to drive to get there, he drove an hour and I drove just shy of three. Was well worth the trip. Walked in the door a little before noon and Steve greeted me by name and welcomed me to the reserved table he set for our lunch. The place is charming and next time I will bring my wife as I am sure she will love the decor. My friend arrived and we started with the hummus and pita plate that also included Pico de Gallo. It all was fresh made and tasted wonderful. After enjoying the appetizer we talked for a while and then listened to Steve go over the options and even a few things that were not on the menu that Brenda (chef) could make for us. We chose the vegetable quesadillas, they contained very fresh ingredients and were excellent Sat for a while longer and then order a glass of wine as we continued our time reminiscing of our growing families as well as some new adventures that we each had taken. Steve, all along was very attentive with making sure we had coffee or any other option we requested. A few minutes later he came back to the table with complementary desert. Wow, what an unexpected gem this place turned out to be. We ended up staying three and a half hours and felt very welcome the whole time. If the Copper Dog Cafe were closer I would eat here several times a month. Will definitely be back on my next trip that is anywhere close to Lafayette. Thank you Steve and Brenda for making a mini reunion joyful for two old friends. Carl
