- very good; best eggplant
The cafe itself is very nice, situated w a great ocean view. The staff was very nice, accommodating and helpful. Some of the food was outstanding. In fact, the eggplant dish (baigan bartha) was the best we ever had. I think they must roast it in the tandoor, perhaps? They definitely did not obliterate the onions like most other places, and Maui onions are very sweet and tasty. The other dish was less successful, the veggie vindaloo. It did not taste fresh or authentic. So I would not order that again. Part of going out is getting the right dish, we happened to stumble on their best and something that was passable. They did charge for rice. We liked the apps too. Good spot, hopefully we go back to Maui and we would stop again.
