- Best vegan food in Tokyo
This was the last place we went to eat during our stay in Tokyo. In response to the prior review about being declined due to lack-of-Japanese - it might have just been an understanding? The owner/cook spoke enough English to help translate the menu and was much easier than previous experiences. Mind you, I primarily spoke Japanese when ordering/paying. I even managed to have a funny conversation with the owner - he is very friendly. Some things to note: 1. If you know how to read Japanese enough to get by, be warned - the menu is handwritten and kanji in particular is a little hard to read. 2. The place is a little hard to find but Google maps makes it extremely easy. In terms of the food - it was fantastic. There's a shared section on the menu which are larger quantities than the smaller tapas menu options. I had shared spring rolls (delicious), a daily special pumpkin salad, soy meat, vegetable hamburger and fried rice - all of which were fantastic. The fried rice was a little sour for me though. Prices were very reasonable and according to my parents the white wine was also good. Updated from previous review on Friday November 07, 2014 Updated from previous review on Friday November 07, 2014
