I think I should first say I want so badly to like this place. The owners put so much time and effort into redoing the space, and it's got gorgeous floors, tables, chairs, overall decor. I'm also vegan and had high hopes. The first time we went, the food was OK. The menu wasn't great, but the cheese plate and veg burger were pretty good. Maybe too pricey though. They've since changed the menu and the space. Retail downstairs, more sitting areas/tables and live music. But it's still ... off? Is it too healthy? Is it too expensive? I don't know exactly, but it doesn't hit me right, like well executed vegan in the Valley (Evolution, Fresh Side and Bela) and say Portland, OR (or even Boston). The food seems bland and uninspired. I spent $5.50 recently for a 12 oz. smoothie that was watered down and unripe? Total turn off. Where's the vegan comfort food -- tofu, tempeh, Mexican, rice/pasta bowls? Bring down the prices and be creative or I don't think I'll be back.
