• Don't let the slick website fool you.

Passing through Albuquerque, we searched HC for a light meal suggestion. Notwithstanding the previous negative review, we checked out the website and headed over to Souper Salad. The restaurant is in the back corner of a struggling strip center. We paid for our meals and headed down the salad bar line. The silverware looked dirty, but was merely old. We were very disappointed by the spring mix and fresh spinach, which were both wilted and definitely not fresh. Only one of the prepared salads was vegan, and the rest were drowning in mayo. There were lots of salad add-ins, but many were from cans and many looked like they had been on the serving line far too long. One of the four soups was vegan, and there were baked potatoes and baked sweet potatoes. Although the food was very disappointing, the employees were working hard to restock the serving lines, keep everything clean, and be helpful to customers. We heard that another Souper Salad location had closed. Not surprising given our poor experience.
