  • No foie gras on the menu!

What a little gem! IZBA is a welcome change to the foie gras laden menus of the Dordogne. My girlfriend is a vegetarian and was thrilled to see healthy options that weren't omelettes. Friendly atmosphere, some jazz playing, and a very nice couple running the restaurant. The owner actually referred us to two other veggie-friendly restaurants for our next destinations, which we happily tried. (I'll write a review of L'Oiseau Cabosse in Bordeaux.) I enjoyed my vegan creme brulee for dessert. We also appreciated the bread which was a homemade creation with some interesting spices. They really put in the extra effort to give you a dining experience at an affordable price. Definitely worth a visit if you are anywhere near Perigueux. Closed Sunday and Monday along with virtually everything else in town. Visited June 2012.
