- Pleasant but not outrageous.
I've enjoyed some meals more than others at Terri's. I find the sandwiches here range from very good to below average, depending on the day and what you choose. I've also found that the menu is hit and miss. On our last visit here we ordered the southwestern Chicken Melt which was filled with goodness and had greatex-mex flavors going for it (My wife LOVED it) but, The Chicken, Bacon, Ranch sandwich was EXTREMELY subpar. While (according to my wife) the chicken apparently tasted exactly like the real thing, you would have needed a microscope to find the bacon and the Sandwich was dryer than the Sahara (if there was 1/90th of a bottle of ranch in it than I'm Elvis). I Honestly do not see what the fuss of some of the other reviews are about. A great Faux Meat Sandwich should be so jam packed with goodness, that you have to eat it with utensils. Here I could one hand the sandwich and there was little that would fall out. While I hate the murder of Animals, New York Delis get the basic concept of a lot of filling between 2 slices of bread correct, which is something you CAN get in vegan places like the Chicago Diner or to a lesser extent Blossom. On the other hand Terri's Sandwiches looks just like how carnivores stereotype Vegan food, lean, thin, and unfilling. While it has some good offerings, with all the amazing vegan restaurants AND sandwich places in NYC, this wouldn't be my first choice.
