- Delicious food
I used to live in the Mission, and I went to Cafe Gratitude a few years ago on my vegan honeymoon. Gracias Madre was on the top of my list of places missed on the that trip. My husband and I went with a friend from Texas, who can also appreciate vegan Mexican. I had the tacos, and they were delicious. One of my dining companions had the posole. All of the food is made with great ingredients and great care. When you live on the east coast, you often find it impossible to get a really good tortilla (unless you make them yourself). I had peach cobbler with cinnamon ice cream for dessert. The price is obviously higher than in a corner taqeria, but it is a heck of a lot cheaper than Millennium. This is San Francisco, so expect to pay a high price for quality.
