- Great cheap thai buffet but beware shop is not vegan!
Dec 2016 Once upon a time there opened an all you can eat Thai buffet in Greek St , Soho. We couldn't believe how amazing it was. All Vegan and eat as much as you like! A year or so later there were about 10 franchises of the the same, the best of which was Joi on Percy St off Tottenham Court Road. Sadly there are only two (possibly 3) left that are still vegan. This restaurant is a beacon of joy stuck out in the misery that is Shepherds Bush where there is SFA else vegan to eat. The buffet is extensive, featuring salads, hot and cold dishes, noodles, rice, roast potatoes, lots of fake meat and some sweet dishes for desert! A real bonus at this place is that the worker spoke good enough English to be able to discuss the ingredients of each dish, so those trying to avoid sugar etc could eat with ease. Great it's still going, go support it! Returned for an evening meal on the 24th Feb 2019 and found the buffet to be almost identical to how it was 3 years ago! Still a great selection of vegan savoury food, some hot some cold (I think some reviewers don’t realise that many dishes are intentionally served cold!) For sure this is not quality food, some is not even that healthy given the fat and sugar content but it is vegan and for London it is cheap. It is great to see so many locals popping in to eat there. This place has outlasted most of the other All You Can Eat Thai Buffets maybe because the rent is cheaper in Shepherds Bush than central London! But whatever there Thai Fo is right next to the evil Mcdonald’s offering a cruelty free alternative, hurrah! Back again in April 2024! Tai still caters to the cheap n cheerful vegan market, perfect for hungry folk who can’t afford them likes of wolf and lamb, Mildred’s etc. Don’t expect classy presentation but do enjoy all the fake meats you can manage! Great to see this place still alive. All you can eat buffet now costs £9. Jan 2026, the Buffet is just as wonderful as ever in some ways even better with several variations of warm dumplings added since I was last here. But the new shop at the back is not all vegan as I found to my cost having bought some Happy luncheon meat on trust only to later discover it has egg in, my mistake but a bit worrying about the 100% vegan assurances of the buffet.
