  • Calm and quiet - with good food.

Conveniently located at the side-entrance (called wave or 'Welle') of the train station in the city center of Bern. It's a place to recharge batteries as the food is delicious and the restaurant is radiating calm. Their menu isn't overloaded as often seen in other places and their portion sizes are generous (but they do ask if you want a big or normal portion). Variety of take-away foods (sandwiches, cookies, muffins), some vegan. The daily special sometimes offers a vegan variation. The only downside is the always-the-same pre-fab salad (pre-chopped) thrown on the plate. I recommend their mixed salad as they always include a starch (e.g. potato or lentils). Can get busy over lunch time. Opens early morning, closed in the evening and all Sunday.
