After reading so many positive reviews, I'd been expecting Maitrea to be a bit more special than it was. The interior was lovely, especially downstairs: quite a fancy restaurant. However, the tables were very close together, so we were essentially sitting with other people. I prefer more privacy, especially when you're paying in a nice place. And truthfully I thought the menu was a little uninspired - there weren't many vegan options, and the udon noodles were basically just noodles, veg and some fried "duck", which I could have thrown together at home. I didn't feel like the price and the decor matched the food at all.
