- Pizza Heaven No More
Geez, it's only 3/19/2018, but I need to update my review from July 2017. Ugh - it used to be SOOO good. So the crust has changed again. Thinner and not as tasty. Not what I'd call NY style anymore. It's in a class on its own. They still have vegan sausage (tofurkey?) and Daiya, but thats it. A staff person told me it was costing too much to offer the Almond Ricotta, Vegan-Roni, etc. Which doesn't make much since other than those where house made so maybe it's too labor intensive. Because they did up charge for it! I will try going again, but it won't be very often. I can make better at home. My previous review: Wow, I need to update my review from 2009! A lot have changed! New owners - they've stuck with most of the vegan items - Daiya Cheese; House made Almond Ricotta; House made Roni and Sausage. Gardien chicken is still offered as well as several vegan sauces/dressings. Looks like Temeph is gone from the menu; I used to love getting a Temeph steak sandwich! Ah well - the best is the pizza. They've changed the crust recipe a bit. It's still good, but not as good as it was. They no longer do a weekly vegan special, but maybe once the new owners are there for a while they'll add it back. They spruced the place up a bit, so that's a plus. Its more of a take out place though since you can't drink a beer there. Still the best place in town for vegan options - outside of Native Foods!
