- Great choice for vegans
This is a warm and cosy restaurant - even though it was snowing heavily, this was worth the walk to the old town and was very well heated as well as serving piping hot food. There are lunchtime (120SEK per person)and afternoon/evening (130SEK per person) buffets, as well as a separate menu and choice of cakes. Hot drinks are 15SEK if purchased with a buffet. We had the lunchtime buffet, served from 11-14, which included four hot dishes, plenty of salad, quinoa, bread, hummous, dipping sauces and dressings, and unlimited water. All items in the buffet were vegan with the exception of one sauce - not sure about the rest of the menu although at least one cake was vegan. It was all-you-can-eat so you can refill the plate many times, though to be honest, after two plates each, we were set for the rest of the day! Staff are friendly and knowledgeable about which items were vegan, and also speak English. EDIT Jul 2017 - most of what I have written before still stands, although the prices are now 130SEK and 140SEK for lunch and dinner buffets respectively. What has changed since my last visit is the attitude of the staff, who presently do not seem to be interested in greeting or helping customers. Whilst I understood the system, I heard a group of non-locals be talked to quite rudely because they did not know what was included or not in the buffet or if they could refill. Hopefully it was an off day, but for the benefit of new guests: you pay at the counter upon arrival. The whole salad bar and drawers with hot dishes are included, as is the bread and soup, and you can refill your plate as often as you like. If you want water, you can take it from the jugs at the opposite end of the counter, even though they are technically in the staff area, and tea and coffee are included at lunch, but cost 15SEK at dinner. Two/three of the buffet options contain dairy, but are not labelled, so say 'vegan/vegansk' when paying. Edit Mar 2021: No Swedish spoken!
