You could once come here and be guaranteed a 100% meat free environment in the settings of a traditionally decorated old victorian railway station building set in a tranquil and beautiful secret garden setting. Whilst the location is still quite idyllic there has been a major introduction of meat to the menu. Vegetarian options are purely dairy orientated e.g. cheddar cheese, tomato and rocket, egg mayonnaise and cress or goats cheese and red pepper sandwiches. There is also a large range of scones which are of course all dairy. The last time I was here, we enjoyed a vegan cake and a lovely cup of English tea. This is no longer possible. For me, this is just a traditional tea room now as much as any other tea room I have been to in the UK. You need to check opening times online as it now only opens for business on certain days listed on the web site. It appears the focus is now on hired events, organised tea parties and wedding receptions. If you fancy a nice drive in the country and are happy to accept what to expect, it's worth a visit otherwise it's cheaper to stay at home. Updated from previous review on 2016-07-06
