- Great Veggie Grocer
New Leaf has always been one of my favorite grocery stores in Santa Cruz. It's centrally located on Pacific Ave and has a wide variety of veggie foods. The staff are always friendly and able to help if you have any questions about a product. There is a deli here that has great veggie burgers and sandwiches with a delicious tofu spread (highly recommend!). I usually get the fake bacon sandwich on wheat with tofu spread... mmm! They also have amazing vegan taquitos, rice pilaf, fakin' bacon, pizzas, non-dairy cream cheese, soy sour cream, and an assortment of vegan pastries, muffins, and sweet treats. The vegan "Cowboy" cookies are also delicious. Highly recommend stopping by! Updated from previous review on 2011-03-11
