- Remarkably good vegetarian cuisine
We ate at Le Kid in August 2009 and we were quite impressed. The servers are vegan-friendly if one can speak French; they understood clearly that we didn't want any animal products and they made a point to tell us which items were vegan, including the dressings and condiments, etc. Also, the menu employs a coding system in which all vegan dishes are marked with a "4*" so it's pretty clear. But, just to be sure, if you don't speak French, then it would be worth learning one phrase: "Je suis végétalien [male]/ végétalienne [female]," which means "I am vegan." There are about half a dozen vegan items, give or take. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor decor was a quirky assortment of memorabilia that gives the place character. The outdoor seating is good for peoplewatching, given the prime location near the University. When the food arrived, it was a rare pleasure, as Le Kid really knows how to cook. We especially enjoyed the vegan brochette. The bill was not cheap (about 30 Francs per person without drinks), but considering the quality of the food, we felt it was fair by Geneva standards.
