- Great place for breakfast
Local Urban Kitchen is a great place for breakfast. The staff is helpful, friendly and attentive. The informal ambiance of this cheerful restaurant makes eating festive. I enjoyed the custom tables and benches constructed from varnished wooden pallets. There are many vegan breakfast choices: oatmeal, fresh fruit bowl with coconut yogurt, vegan mozzarella/cheddar cheese, pancakes, waffles. I had the Vegan Big Boy - tofu scramble with two vegan pancakes, vegan sausage and fruit (you could substitute homefries) which set me up for the day. The coffee was fresh and strong (though I wished that it were served in mugs rather than paper cups). I plan to eat there again the next time I am at the Jersey Shore.
