We finally made it to Shojin and, wow... Nearly everything about this place is first class. A warm welcome, a tastefully designed space, great service, and some of the most delicious, creative, and salubrious Japanese food we've had anywhere (including Japan) — and organic ingredients to boot. Ordering was a challenge because i wanted to eat the whole menu. But we eventually narrowed it down to two appetizers and three sushi rolls. We love everything, but our favorites were these: - Spicy rock shiitake tempura - Shishito peppers and crispy tofu - Spicy baked scallop roll Also good: Daikonic roll, and Crunchy Tiger, Hidden Dragon For dessert, we had the best green tea ice cream (vegan) we've ever had. All the food was well presented, and some of the dishes are culinary art. Service was perfect: warm and very attentive without being obtrusive. The place isn't cheap, but it's a bargain considering the stellar quality of the organic ingredients, haute-cuisine preparation, and excellent service. The canned music wasn't to our taste, but everything else certainly was, so it's a solid 5 very Happy Cows. They validate parking in the Little Tokyo Shopping Center for up to 2 hours, which is a big plus in this area. Park on the 4th level for convenience (there's a bridge that crosses directly to the top floor of the mall, where Shojin is located). Enjoy!
