  • Disappointed

First let me say that I'm always grateful to find a vegan restaurant while I'm traveling. Ethos has an attractive storefront and outdoor patio. My husband and I lunched there on March 18, 2011, indoors. The food was good to very good. I had the pecan encrusted eggplant. While it was a quite unusual taste, which in my book is a plus, it was a bit too bland, and the accompanying wine sauce did not go very well with it. The mashed potatoes and its gravy though, and the sauteed green beans were fantastic. I had also a chocolate macadamia cookie and a coffee that were both delicious. My husband started with a potatoe leek soup, very good taste but not warm enough. Then he had a chickun marsala. He found it to be delicious; his only critique was that there could have been more vegetables accompanying this dish. Our disappointment came with the staff. We did not feel welcome. At first we were not too sure how to order, and eventhough it was quite obvious as there were about 4 people in the whole restaurant, no staff (they were two) offered us any help nor any explanations. It was cold and unfriendly, really contrasting with most of our experience in Florida. It left a really bad taste and we will not go back there any time soon.
