- Great food! Service...
Made the hour drive to check this place out on my birthday last week. My family have been craving an old fashioned breakfast since going vegan a few months ago so I did some research and found this spot. So first thing is, if you're not familiar with LA, parking is always a hassle. We found a spot around the corner and didn't realize that it was residential parking only and got a $62 ticket. Not sure where you are supposed to park if all the spots in front of Floré are taken but just make sure you check all signs before choosing a spot. Here is where the service/friendliness part comes into question. We got there a few minutes before opening. We walked up and a gentleman was sitting on a chair next to the door, reading a paper. As we walked up, I told my family, "I don't think they're open yet" the gentlman looked up and said, "we don't open until 10" but he did it pretty rudely, got up and went into the restaurant. I said, oooookay and waited until someone came out to seat us. Now our female server (didn't get her name) was great! Extremely friendly. Very fast and accommodating. We placed our orders and the food come out and it looked goooood! I got the chik'n and waffles and my wife and son got waffles with bananas and berries with potatoes on the side. We all LOVED the meal and it was exactly what we were looking for to fill that classic breakfast craving! I am giving Floré 5 stars despite the initial contact. I seem to notice that because my family and I don't look like the average vegan (like I said we are new to this lifestyle and are still overweight from our years of omnivorous eating) we get approached by some people at these establishments very rudely or shortly. In others, the folks are excited to hear about our change and are very encouraging and helpful with recommendations, etc. I had a similar incident at Equelecua Cuban Cafe in Inglewood and will post that experience as well. I won't fault the restaurant for the brief rudeness since our server was great and so was the food.
