Back again, Saturday 12.07.2025. We sat indoors as none of the tables outside had umbrellas, and weren’t in the shade. The doors and windows were all shut so the wasps couldn’t get inside however this did make for a hot interior. I went to check out the cakes and to place our order at the till but it took a while as I was trying to decide which cakes would still be okay to eat bearing in mind the oven like (no exaggeration) temps in that part of the cafe. I opted for a coffee and walnut that didn’t have icing or cream. B had a flat cherry scone which was cut in to four and he’d assumed he’d get one of the quarters so was surprised when all of it was brought to the table. It was so hot in the main seating area it was hard to catch my breath so we took the cakes outside and moved two chairs in to the shade. Poor B had to share his with three wasps! Hanging some fabric under the glass atrium may help with the temps in the cake and till area, and fans, electric fans in there and the main seating area would have definitely helped 🥵
