What better way to celebrate Be Kind to Animals Week and Mother’s Day, then to spend it with our animal friends? In Northern California, two exciting events are happening on Mother’s Day weekend (May 10th and 11th). The first event is Farm Sanctuary’s California Hoe Down, held at their Orland, California shelter. The event starts on Saturday morning (May 10th) and runs through Sunday afternoon (May 11th). The event features inspiring speakers, delicious vegan meals, and\u00a0best of all…time with the\u00a0animals! You can\u00a0learn more about the event by clicking here.<\/a><\/p>\n

If you’ve never visited Farm Sanctuary, boy are you in for a treat. Here is one of my favorite photos that\u00a0my husband\u00a0took on our last trip there (last fall).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0

Our wonderful friends (Mike and Kerrie) work and live\u00a0there, and provide fabulous love and care to the animals. Their house borders the pig pasture. Here’s a picture of my dog (Jessie) having a serious talk with\u00a0some of the resident pigs!<\/p>\n

The second\u00a0fabulous event is happening at Animal Place in Grass Valley, California. A Mother’s Day brunch will be held at the sanctuary on Saturday, May 10th. Meet the wonderful animals at the sanctuary, enjoy a\u00a0delicious catered brunch, and hear powerful stories of sanctuary motherhood. If you can’t attend these events, please consider donating to either of these great organizations. But if you are able to attend, please give the animals some extra love from me.<\/p>\n
