Get weight<\/li>\n<li>Place a third of the potatoes over the sauce.<\/li>\n<li>Place half of the chard over the potatoes.<\/li>\n<li>Place a third of cheese sauce over the chard.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat (another third of potatoes, the rest of the chard, another third of the cheese sauce)<\/li>\n<li>Add the last layer of potatoes and then pour over the remaining cheese sauce.<\/li>\n<li>With a spoon,evenly distribute the onion\/garlic mixture on top of the cheese sauce.<\/li>\n<li>Place in the oven and baked uncovered for 1 hour.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Cheese_Sauce\"><\/span><b id=\"internal-source-marker_0.5345429333392531\">Cheese Sauce\u00a0<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h1>\n<p><b><b>Gluten free\u00a0<\/b><\/b><br \/>\n<b><b>Nut free\u00a0<\/b><\/b><br \/>\n<b><b>Soy free if using soy free Earth Balance<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_You_Need-2\"><\/span>What You Need<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><strong>1 russet potato, peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces (1 1\/2 cups \/ 240g)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> 1 cup carrot, cut into 1\/2 inch rounds (130g)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> 1\/4 yellow onion, diced \u00a0(1\/2 cup \/ 65g)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> 2 \u00a0cups water (475 ml)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> 1\/2 cup Earth Balance buttery spread (70g)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> 1\/2 cup nutritional yeast (40g)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> 1\/2 teaspoon turmeric<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> 1 teaspoon salt (6g)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> 3 tablespoons coconut milk (45 ml)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong> 3 turns fresh black pepper<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>OR &#8211; you could purchase from your local health food store a vegan shredded cheese, cheddar flavor<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_To_Do_It\"><\/span>How To Do It<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Place potato, carrot and onion in a pan, cover with 2 cups of water and simmer for 20 minutes with the lid on.<\/li>\n<li>After 20 minutes, turn off heat and add Earth Balance, nutritional yeast, turmeric and salt. Stir to combine until melted.<\/li>\n<li>Pour mixture into a blender and blend until creamy, about one minute on medium.
