Italy’s third largest city is one of its oldest, most artistic and most appetizing. Naples’\u00a0<\/span>centro storico<\/i>\u00a0(historic centre) is a Unesco World Heritage Site. Its archaeological treasures are among the world’s most important, and there are lots of palaces, castles and churches to visit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Then there’s the food. Blessed with rich volcanic soils, a bountiful sea, and centuries of culinary know-how, the Naples region is known as one of\u00a0Italy’s best food regions, serving up the country’s best pizza, pasta and coffee, and many street snacks and sweet treats.<\/p>\n

When we think of Naples we remember our very Italian apartment with a terrace that could have easily been a set in a movie (you can almost see Julia Roberts and George Clooney drinking their coffee in the morning :-)).<\/p>\n

We loved to go downstairs, walk into the local bakery\/bar and order our \u2018due cappuccino con leche di soia, per favore.\u2019 And although I\u2019m a huge fan of the Italian kitchen, the restaurant that comes to mind when thinking of Naples is L\u2019Etto<\/a>.<\/p>\n

L\u2019Etto<\/a> is a smart, stylish and very welcoming cafe just two minutes from the National Archaeological Museum, on Via S Maria di Constantinopoli. It is a trendy restaurant where, instead of paying a fixed price for a meal, you pay for your food by weight (2,50 euro for 100 grams).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

L\u2019Etto<\/a> has a crisp, modern looking feel to it and we just loved the buffet. 80% is vegetarian\/vegan, there is a large variety of veggie dishes, great salads, (wild) rice and pastas. Good wines by the glass \u2013 both local and more well known (Montepulciano and Tuscany) plus some local craft beers.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

We loved the food so much that we went back there three times (even when we had to travel for over an our to get there because we stayed across town).<\/p>\n

So whenever someone tells us that they go to Napoli we tell them\u2026 \u2018Go and eat at L\u2019Etto<\/a>!\u2019 You will be pleasantly surprised!<\/p>\n
