Some are:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">a) Health. With every mouthful of food you ingest you are making a decision on whether you turn your body into an environment that either:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>attacks serious illness; or<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>fertilises serious illness to thrive<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcrm.org\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">Eat vegan and you will be immensely healthier.<\/a> And you\u2019ll be improving the overall health of society. Not to mention avoiding <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2015\/03\/23\/antibiotics-super-bugs_n_6920338.html\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">antibiotics fed to farm animals now driving the rise of super bugs.<\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">b) The planet. If you want to save the planet the easiest change of greatest impact you can make is to go vegan. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cowspiracy.com\/facts\/\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">Animal agriculture has a devastating effect on air, land, soil, water, biodiversity and climate change.<\/a> The planet will be a stunningly better place without animal industry greenhouse gases, sewage and other toxic animal waste products.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">c) Economics. The combined savings to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theatlantic.com\/business\/archive\/2016\/03\/the-economic-case-for-worldwide-vegetarianism\/475524\/\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">healthcare<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/civileats.com\/2016\/03\/21\/eating-less-meat-could-save-up-to-31-trillion\/\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">planet<\/a> by adopting veganism is multi trillion dollar. Non-veganism is the great economic con of humanity. Using animals for food is a jaw droppingly inefficient use of money, land, water, energy and food. e.g. Why waste grain or soy feeding it to cattle when it could feed people? There\u2019s millions of poor people dying to be fed a full meal.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-9661 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/hkveg.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/12\/evolve-hungry-child-beef.jpg?w=321&amp;h=260\" alt=\"evolve-hungry-child-beef\" width=\"321\" height=\"260\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">d) Compassion. Animal industry operates on the principle of the powerful exploiting the weak. In any situation imagine yourself in the position of the victim. Veganism is rejection of a gigantic establishment con. Marketing gimmicks and euphemisms are very different from the reality of systematic animal commoditisation, enslavement, abuse, violence, torture and slaughter. e.g. If we take \u2018humane\u2019 to mean something we are happy to be done to ourselves, why don\u2019t people volunteer for the violence of \u2018humane slaughter\u2019 given to animals? Nor why don\u2019t people volunteer their sons to be ground up while alive at a day old as per what the egg industry does to male chicks?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">From the earliest years children are fed animal derived food products. This produces a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.worldpeacediet.com\/\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">culture where slavery, cruelty and violence against other creatures is conditioned and supported by the most routine of society&#8217;s rituals, family meal time.<\/a> This ritually sanctioned cruelty then manifests itself in other parts of society, e.g. in violence against women. Is it such a surprise so many <a href=\"http:\/\/www.livescience.com\/48343-fbi-targets-animal-cruelty-as-serious-crime.html\" id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1483934258939_11588\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">mass murderers have histories of torturing animals?<\/a> Buying non-vegan products supports a culture where not just routine but systematic slavery, abuse, cruelty and violence is accepted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Bear in mind other forms of vegetarianism are sub-optimal choices. The egg industry is the same as the chicken industry. The dairy industry is the same as the beef industry. Consume <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcrm.org\/health\/diets\/vegdiets\/health-concerns-about-dairy-products\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">dairy<\/a> or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcrm.org\/sites\/default\/files\/pdfs\/health\/Nutrition-Fact-Sheets\/Eggs-fact-sheet.pdf\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">eggs<\/a> and you\u2019re still:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>glooping your body up with stuff you\u2019re far better without<\/li>\n<li>sponsoring destruction of the planet<\/li>\n<li>consuming earth\u2019s resources with barely imaginable economic inefficiency<\/li>\n<li>sponsoring systematic birth-to-slaughter cruelty, abuse and violence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>2. Be aware of the misinformation tsunami<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Your monetary value as a consumer over your life time is immense. There is also the effect you will have on those around you. The meat \/ dairy \/ egg \/ fish \/ sea food lobbies are one and the same. They won\u2019t give you up without a hell of a fight. Prepare for them to hit you with a tsunami of misinformation and lies. They want to demonise veganism to try to win you back.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-8336 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/hkveg.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/11\/tesco-milk-advertising.jpg?w=387&amp;h=232\" alt=\"tesco-milk-advertising\" width=\"387\" height=\"232\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/freefromharm.org\/dairyfacts\/\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">(Systematic motherhood exploitation by the dairy industry<\/a> is totally different from what Tesco want to mislead you with this advert)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Don\u2019t be conned by big business and their fake citizens groups and their payrolled\u00a0 academics trying to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2sTaI5XwZFc\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">present the perception of unbiased opinion.<\/a> Consider getting a health check to give you a baseline against which to measure veganism. Even relatively simple stuff like weight, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, urine test, blood test; such results can give you hard and fast metrics. Then get another test some time in future (six months? Twelve months?). The improvements should be inarguable regardless of what any lobby group says. Don\u2019t use waiting for the health check as a reason to delay trying vegan. The sooner you\u2019re vegan the better for everyone. If the health check is after you start trying vegan then no issue.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>3. As 450,000 others have, try the free online <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcrm.org\/health\/diets\/kickstart\/kickstart-programs\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">21 day vegan kickstart<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9759 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/hkveg.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/12\/21-day-vegan-kickstart-app.jpg?w=279&amp;h=320\" alt=\"21-day-vegan-kickstart-app\" width=\"279\" height=\"320\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>4. Don\u2019t expect to get everything right especially at the beginning<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Everybody learns new things everyday. Animal products crop up in all sorts of things. Give it your best shot. When it turns out something has sneaked past your defences, don\u2019t beat yourself up. Stay positive, learn from experience and move forward. See point 5.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>5. Use technology<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Try these:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/isitvegan.net\/\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">Is it vegan<\/a> \u2013 A\u00a0mobile tool for anyone interested in eliminating animal products from their diet. Scan a food \/ beverage bar code with your phone and the app answers the question, Is it vegan?<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.happycow.net\"  target=\"_blank\">HappyCow<\/a> \u2013 A\u00a0superb worldwide restaurant directory website (obviously) and app.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vegansociety.com\/shop\/books\/lifestyle-books\/vegan-passport\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">Vegan Passport<\/a> \u2013 Languages open doors. Simple is genius. This app is a must.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.barnivore.com\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">Barnivore<\/a> \u2013 Fish, cow or pig extract and other non-vegan ingredients are widely used as manufacturing aids for alcoholic drinks. This sounds odd at first but remember this; we live in a world where most people consider eating animal corpses is normal. Barnivore is a booze directory website to help vegan boozers avoid pitfalls. It also has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barnivore.com\/mobile\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">links to apps<\/a> that run on top of it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">There\u00a0are also other apps such Animal Free, Cruelty-Free, Choose Cruelty Free etc.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>6. Seek out others<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Strength comes from togetherness. It\u2019s much easier to find other people embracing veganism in the social media age. Check vegan groups out on facebook, meetup etc and decide which are for you.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong>7. Learn how to recognise someone talking to you is clueless about nutrition<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As surely as Batman drives a batmobile they will ask you the following words:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cWhere do you get your protein?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-8411 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/hkveg.files.wordpress.com\/2016\/11\/vegan-rhino-large1.jpg?w=347&amp;h=216\" alt=\"vegan-rhino-large\" width=\"347\" height=\"216\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vegansociety.com\/resources\/nutrition-and-health\/vitamins-minerals-and-nutrients\/protein\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">Getting protein is easy from plants.<\/a> It\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/proteinaholic.com\/\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">non-vegans that should be concerned about their protein<\/a> since animal foods:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">a) are too high in their protein levels for optimal human health<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">b) have protein that have negative effects on the human body (animal and plant proteins have different molecular chemistry)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">c) come packaged with a whole bunch of other nasties the human body is better off without<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pcrm.org\"  target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external nofollow\">PCRM<\/a> people state, \u201cTo consume a diet that contains enough, but not too much, protein, simply replace animal products with grains, vegetables, legumes (peas, beans, and lentils), and fruits. Eat the rainbow<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">That there\u2019s different nutrients in different plant derived foods is visible from the different colours. A diet consisting of this vast array of nutrients working in concerto is what packs a healthy punch.
