Not only is it absolutely delicious, it requires no baking. As with all of my recipes this has no dairy, no refined sugar and is made with the biggest heart full of love. The recipe itself is super quick to make (although you do need to remember to soak the nuts and dates ahead of time). It has always been a real winner with just about everyone I know.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparation time:<\/strong> 10 minutes (plus 3 hours to soak)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves:<\/strong> 5 to 10 balls (depending on size)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>100g\u00a0(about 3\u00bd oz) almonds (raw or blanched)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>100g\u00a0(about 3\u00bd oz) dates (pitted)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>2 tablespoons cocoa powder<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>1 teaspoon vanilla extract<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>2 tablespoons dessicated coconut<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You will also need:<em> a food processor or good quality blender<\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.happycow.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Raw-Chocolate-Kisses_1.jpg\" ><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10620\" src=\"https:\/\/www.happycow.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Raw-Chocolate-Kisses_1.jpg\" alt=\"Raw Chocolate Truffles by Trinity\" width=\"709\" height=\"541\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.happycow.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Raw-Chocolate-Kisses_1.jpg 709w, https:\/\/www.happycow.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Raw-Chocolate-Kisses_1-300x229.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 100vw, 709px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>How to make<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>With enough water to rise a few centimeters above, soak almonds and dates in water for about 3 hours. This will soften them to make the blending process easier.<\/li>\n<li>After 3 hours thoroughly drain the dates and almonds (soaking for any longer will probably make them go a little too soft). Place in a food processor along with the vanilla extract and blend until they start to bind together. This mixture doesn&#8217;t have to be super smooth, although it works best if the pieces are really small and are starting to bind together.<\/li>\n<li>Add the cocoa powder and mix in until evenly spread throughout.<\/li>\n<li>Roll into small balls in your hands; and then roll the balls into the dessicated coconut to evenly coat and finish off.<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy fresh, just as they are &#8211; or pop into a container and store in the fridge (they&#8217;ll keep for at least a week &#8211; if you can resist!).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Simple Variations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Nuts:<\/span> <em>this recipe works well with cashews, walnuts or pecans too.
