The native language in Ecuador is Spanish. I have taken the following phrases from a respected phrasebook and I think, given how difficult it sounds to eat vegan in Ecuador, it is worth noting them down before you go!

- I'm vegetarian
- Soy vegetariono/a

- I'm vegan
- Soy vegano/a

- I don't eat any animal product
- No como ningún producto animal

- I don't eat either meat or fish
- No como ni carne ni pescado

- I can't eat dairy products
- No puedo tomar productos lácteos

- I'm allergic to cow's milk / shellfish
- Soy alérgico/a la leche de vaca / al marisco

- Is that cooked with butter?
- ¿Se ha cocinado con mantequilla?

- Huevo
- Egg

- Leche
- Milk

- Pollo/Ave
- Chicken

- Jamón
- Ham

- Queso
- Cheese

- Vaca
- Beef
