El Eden,open Monday-friday 8am-8pm (Ave.Manuel Larrea y Calle Riofrio not far from the Basilica). Wow....fantastic local veggie almuerzos( lunch) as well as veggie hotdogs!, empanadas etc. A real , no frills and cheap place, lovely family running the place and making their own Seitan( gluten, mock meat)and some health products....best in Quito and totally veggie.....not mentioned in any of the travel guide books, i.e undiscovered!!! Enjoy!
