Please note that most breads are made with animal fat in Chile. To be on the safe side, if you want to eat bread, go to vegetarian restaurants such as El Huerto or La Chakra (both in Santiago). There are other vegetarian restuarants in the country which are listed on Happy Cow under restaurants.

Chile is famous for it's seafood and restaurants do not cater well for vegetarians. Like most places in South America there are many Italian restaurants and these normally have lacto-vegetarian pasta or pizzas. Hotel breakfasts often offer a good selection of fruit. Eating out in most places will not be practical for vegans.
