Good vegan-Asian - Edit
Large variety of dishes to choose from, lots of protein choices so it’s not just vegetables. The honey chicken was nice but was super sticky and ended up sticking to our teeth which ruined the experience.

Great food - Edit
Service was really good. It was quite quiet so they had time to talk us through the menu and show us what was popular. Food was delicious. Would highly recomend this place.

Tasty & Great Value for Money - Edit
Was staying at a hotel without a single vegan option at their restaurant (annoying!) but it worked out for the best as I ordered some food in from Zenhouse which was amazing. Can’t comment on a dine in experience but couldn’t recommend it enough, really great price and really good. Had the mock duck &rice and some salt & pepper shandong fake chicken.

Bit of Zen at a weird dining time - Edit
Looking for a mid-arvo refreshing beverage, we also decided to be tempted with the food menu and ordered an in-between meal. We went with dumplings, Tom yum soup, and a tofu and peanut salad as well as iced and hot teas. The beverages and the light meals were all made fresh and were pretty good. We'd go back next opportunity.

My laksa was delivered as an Uber Eats meal so prepped it myself. Not looking enticing however it tastes good! Nice amount of spice!

Great dinner spot :) - Edit
Ordered takeout and everything was amazing! I particularly liked the Mongolian beef and satay, but from what we’ve had so far it seems you can’t go wrong no matter what you order. Highly recommend!

An Adelaide vegan institution - Edit
I have a sentimental attachment to the original Zenhouse, as we’d dined there on several trips to Adelaide since I first went there well over a decade ago. Naturally I was curious to see what the newer restaurant was like. We actually made two visits there on this trip, and this offered an opportunity for the first experience, which wasn’t great, to be compensated for. We tried a number of delicious dishes, many involving chicken 😂 - ginger, lemongrass and salt & pepper varieties - but also steamed fish and a few entrees. Standouts were the fried wontons, the salt & pepper chicken and the deep-fried dumplings. On our first visit there was a new waiter and orders were running significantly behind and it made dining very unrelaxing, but I felt it probably wasn’t typical for the restaurant. To be honest I think part of the situation is the pressure restaurants are under at the moment, and maybe they can’t afford enough staff. The second visit was fine and I was able to get the brownie with ice cream and fruit I’d wanted the night before, which went down quite nicely with a rooibos chai.

Everything was delicious, but the eggplant basil dish was definitely the star of the meal. Gluten free dishes are clearly labelled and staff are attentive to food allergies and intolerances.

Loved it! - Edit
Each time we’ve had dinner here, it’s been with Omni friends/family. They do a lot of plant based meats, and the omnis enjoy the taste and texture. Flavours of each dish are great. Love the taro rolls and the pho. Affordable prices, and fast service.

Lovely atmosphere. The guy who served us was so nice and efficient. Delicious food and lots of choices. The tea menu is almost as big as the food menu. I can't speak more highly of this place. A must if your visiting Adelaide

Zenhouse fusion? More like Zenhouse tortilla - Edit
The food I had was really good. I had the tempeh schnitzel and vegan mayo and a side of chips. Vegan diets are very well catered for here. This will be a nice option for comfort eating and western style takeaway

Reasonable to good option - Edit
I've eaten/ordered from here numerous times. The rendang curry remains my very favourite. The sauce is spot on. Tried the satay skewers for the first time this week and I'll have them again. My fave fish here has always been the battered oyster mushrooms but they don't appear to be available on ubereats.

Worth a look, if you have no other options. - Edit
Well, it's not bad and it's not amazing.
Read moreIf your chasing the suburban asian/fusion restaurant than this is heaps of fun as a bit of a throwback to something i can remember from my childhood, but don't expect amazing food, very salty and realises on mock meat, which I'm not apposed to but i can see some people no enjoying that. We got a satay noodles that very clearly had frozen veg, e.g. squared carrot, peas and corn.
The food is reasonably priced for what it is, although I probably won't come back, it wasn't anything remarkable, there's far better options in Adelaide.
Pros: Fast , Well Priced, The fried chicken wasn't bad
Cons: Not that tasty , Hasn't been updated since 1997

It's ok - Edit
Theres a few great things on the menu, like the burgers, but ZH relies heavily on mock meats that come out a packet and sauces that seem like they come out of a jar... I generally feel like I could make most the meals here at home for less $.

Good eating - Edit
I believe the entire food menu is vegan now. Rendang Curry is nice with rice and Naan, Zenhouse Fried Rice is tasty, add extra rice for a huge serving to share. Entrees aren't all that great and would give them a miss. Chocolate cake was rich and delicious served with icecream. Could do with a revamp of the dinning room and at times the service can be slow. Overall not a bad spot for a tasty meal.

Takeaway was great - Edit
I attended at about 8pm on Saturday night. I was the only person there. I ordered Hot Plate Noodle and a Steamed Rice, which was ready in about five minutes. I was also able to buy some moon cakes to take with me.
Read moreWhen I arrived home I found that the plastic tubs were not only securely sealed but that plastic wrap had been placed over the top, so there were no accidents with spilling for which I was very grateful.
I was able to eat all of the noodles (at the city store, the same meal is good for three meals for me), which were still warm even after the trip home. I was very pleased.
However I am not sure I would be comfortable eating there as someone's belongings left on the seats in the front foyer area, which turned out to belong to a child who sat behind the counter, and staff were making phone calls to arrange working hours in earshot of me while I was waiting. I also found the seating a bit uncomfortable while I was there and do not know how I could have sat longer.
Pros: Food clearly labelled, Relatively cheap, Takeaway well secured
Cons: Few desserts to choose from, Limited parking

Mediocre - Edit

Broad range of vegan food - Edit
Zenhouse has a broad menu with scope from western burgers and SFC (soya fried chicken) to Asian stir frys and curries. Generally quite tasty but the staff are slow, a little inattentive and have forgotten an item I've ordered on numerous occasions. Overall, a pleasant experience.

Average experience - Edit
Most of the dishes were pretty greasy or fried food and the menu relied heavily upon mock meats or tofu. I feel like good vegan food shouldn't always require a meat substitute, but that wasn't the case here. Some of the dishes also tried to go a bit too experimental with Zenhouse's fusion angle, e.g. the masala tofu which was pretty gross. I enjoyed some of the more veg-focused meals though.

The food at Zen fusion is amazing. I'm not sure what it is but the food at this restaurant seems to taste even better than at their cbd location, which is saying somethibg. The gourmet Masala and taro rolls are most haves.
