Getting well!

Since I recently moved to Frohnhausen I spent some more time at WHY SO SERIOUS and I have to say the quality increased every single time I went there. The last time I've had the burger of the week which was really nice (didn't taste boring, the patty had a nice bite to it) and i totally loved the homemade fries. They still gotta work on the atmosphere of the shop, though.

OLD REVIEW: "I've been there just twice but I have to say although I know many people who like it there I cannot really tell I was super flashed. The food is okay but not to spectacular. From what I've heard the owners changed a while ago and that's when the quality decreased. The staff was friendly but a little weird in my opinion and the place was a little messy. On a summer's day it's nice to sit outside and for having a snack but it defenitively needs improvement because it bears some potential to be cool!"

Pros: Nice to sit outside, many vegan options, inexpensive-moderate pricing

Cons: not that cozy (inside)

100% Ruhrpott. Currywurst. Burger.

Great fresh & homemade fries.
At least 6 delicious homemade vegan sauces.
Vegan currywurst - weekly vegan special burgers - 3 different patties on the menue.
I estimate this place is about 75% vegan. Meat is separately.
I had fries with 2 sauces (Basil-tomato-chili and the typical dutch fries sauce) and a BBQ-Burger.

If you are craving for fast food, this is the right place to go. The former cruise ship cook took over this place 2 years ago and reduced the meat options drastically.

Pros: Authentic , Tasty, Homemade burgers, fries, sauces!

Cons: Interior not really cozy...

reasonable option to vegan-only places

Serves meat, but veg seems to be standard and meat is only an option, fast food, the Chili sin carne and the fries were delicious

Pros: price, vegan options

Cons: serves meat

Closed?

We went here last Wednesday and Thursday, only to find it closed. No explanation or anything, so i'm not sure if they are still open for business....

Cultural property Currywurst and more

Lured on by my regular record shop I set off. Why so Serious?
Because sooner than not your appetite for food may be spoilt nowadays. End of fun? Not at this place!
Enjoying your meal in the town of ESSEN?
It's really possible!
Here they provide excellent quality for the average, maladjusted hungry. There's no alternative to "The proof of the pudding is in the eating". So the order must be: curried, grilled sausage with chips and mayonnaise - vegan, if you please.
First impression: an excellent and plentiful meal, with chips half an inch strong, and curry sauce galore.
So, what about mayonnaise? Looked as usual, tasted familiar - which means: very good. However - didn't I order vegan? I made enquiries - with the result: vegan. Respect! A taste to recommend. So far I knew nothing but the stale preserve. Carnivorouse Predators won't tell the difference.
The sausage has no novel taste for trained vegans, but abolutely recommendable, though not the cheapest on the market. The sauce tastes super, well-ballanced spices make all the difference. Some water seeping from the margin caused a slight optical irritation. But even this was competently explained: a separation could have been prevented only with adding starch. Which makes sense: no superfluous ingredients, in this case starch. So the chips go on the fork, to be dipped into the water.
Well, another aspect of fast-food culture regained. Thanks a lot!
What else?
The menu clearly arranged, with specials and changing offers, as mentioned above, targeted at various consumer groups.
Choices for everyone limited to essentials, such as the sauce.
Another important plus: stylish surroundings with excellent music. You'll enjoy staying for another local beer (Stauder).
Where else would you wait at a chip shop to listen for the end of a track? And a friendly chat before, during and after your meal. Everything allright. Having finished my curried sausage, chips, mayonnaise - completely vegan - and two beers, I left happily for the sunshine.

Pros: punkrockfactor, enthusiasm, good fast food
