Whole Foods Market

This is an absolute haven for vegan, vegetarian, and organic foods. From personal hygiene, pet products, canned goods, dairy selections and fresh vegetables, this market has everything you could possibly want - and from all over the world. Since this is essentially a grocery store, there is a meat / fish section, but it is tucked away into one corner of the store. Whole Foods remains a fabulous destination for vegans, vegetarians, organic food lovers, etc.

Pros: Unbelievable selection, Specialty products, Consistent quality
Cons: Tricky to get to, Usually mobbed, for good reason, Not enough locations

It's pretty typical of Whole Foods stores. Huge, corporate, and pricey. That said, as a vegan, it makes going back to my hometown so much easier.

NOTE: This was formerly known as Wild Oats, and Wild Harvest before that.

Pros: Vegan food in square suburbia
Cons: Corporate, Expensive, Yuppie-ish
