The Veggiewirt is a true gem where you wouldn't expect it. Somewhere in Lower Austria - a vegan inn! There is an extra entry for the vegan restaurant which is upstairs.
The service is extremely friendly and helpful.
Most dishes were Austrian style dishes with mock meat plus some traditionally meatless dishes such as veggie or kraut Strudel. There are soups and starters ("chicken" nuggets, stuffed vine leafs...), desserts (truly amazing chocolate-nut Palatschinken and more), beer, juices, coffee.
We were sitting in the great garden enjoying the birds singing and the sun as well as the owner's dog's company : )
The prices were quite alright aswell - for a soup you pay 2,20€, a main dish costs between 5 and 11Euro, a dessert costs 3,20 to 3,50euro.
I tried the Gemüsestrudel which was delicious and the oven-bake Grieaschnitte (also very good), my partner had the vegan Käsespätzle (average for me, could have had more taste), vegetable soup (very good) and nut-chocolate Palatschinken (out of this world).
Five happy vegan cows for this lovely place!
