A Family's Home

I use to go here to eat whenever I was in Belmopan because it is almost the only place I can get vegan. They are not vegan but let me know what has egg in it. They are an Asian family and calling their place a restaurant is loosely put. It looks like their home where they have cooked food to sale, soy products etc. and family members are there doing all sorts of things as in a home environment. I think most dish are pricey for what you get and it seems unreasonable to charge a two dollar up charge to get noodles instead of rice. I also noticed they are comfortable with serving you with food that is over cooked (burnt). If you have a complaint, forget it you will not be right.

Delicious food on island time

If you’ve got the time to wait for the food, I highly recommend this place.. especially for vegans.
If the weathers nice, the loft patio is beautiful.. and they have a lovely garden in the back.
The place was hard to find... the directions link on happy cow take you to the general area... its hidden from the road a bit.. the gravel driveway before the gas station. There is a small sign with a few other signs. We couldn’t find it at first... and asked a gas station attendant where it was.. and even he didn’t know! It was right behind him 🤣
We went on a Saturday.. apparently, they don’t typically have rice or noodles on the weekends.
We were greeted and taken care of by the whole family, everyone was very friendly.
I ordered dumplings, spring roll and tofu sesame.. my partner and I split it and it was plenty.. and everything was fantastic! I also orders the papaya smoothie, yum! My Omni friends ordered the egg roll... it was something I’ve never seen before... and they wouldn’t recommend it. I’ll post pictures.
They brought everything out one by one... and our drinks came sometime in the middle of our meal... we’re American, so it was a little different than we were used to.. luckily we brought waters, cause we’re not used to the humidity either!
You’ve got to taste the food though, so good!
And our server was as sweet as pie 😉
All in all we spent probably about 1.5 hours here.

Only if you’re starving .

Wife suggested we leave as soon as we walked in. I was very hungry so we stayed. The “Buffett” , consisted of 5-6 plates spread on a table that appeared a few hours old . No heat source , no buffet serving station ...just plates of food. The rice did come from a cooker and was hot, nothing else. It was a very large room but with only 2 tables. Water was served room temperature with no ice. Server disappeared after serving not to be seen again. It was a VERY AWKWARD experience that I can not recommend .
Tried to rate one star but not allowed .

Not Worth it

I am in Belmopan for work for roughly two weeks. I have met many very friendly people here. Veggie Garden does not have any nice people. They were rude, lazy and had no food available. I went for lunch on a Saturday and was told they had no rice. What Chinese establishment doesn't have rice for their meals. Then I was left without any assistance for over 20 minutes. As three staff members sat around a table and talked to each other. I politely said excuse me, I'd like to order and none of them helped me. I walked out. I would never go there again.

I had a much better experience at Blue Moon Cafe - which had Hummus, Baba Ghanoush and a wonderful vegan eggplant sandwich with fresh fruit.

Cons: poor or no service, rude, not special

It was a great accident

I live in Belize and go to Belmopan every now and again. I was walking down the street and saw a veggie sign. So i thought i'd go in.

They have a great menu. It's mostly asian food and it's run by asians (i believe Taiwanese). I had the zun tsu nai cha (Bubble Milk Tea) and a batch of steamed dumplings.

The Milk tea was pretty good (although it could have been thicker). The dumplings were great though. They had a tvp filling and they were on the salty side. They also had a great digging sauce. The decor could use a little work, but hey if the food is good, in Belize you can't be picky. And it is.

Pros: Great Food, shabu shabu

Cons: Out of the way (unless you drive), decor is lacking

Fresh juice and delicious stirfries

Small Restaurant located close to the center of town. Their fake meat is really good in the stir fries and their fresh juice is delicious!

Pros: good value, fresh juice, cheap
